Description

Employment: Contract – 3 months  

Shift: Monday to Friday, Saturday as required | 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM 

Pay Rate: $18.25/hr 

Summary of responsibilities:  
 

The Foam Injection Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating spray injection equipment to produce high-quality foam components. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read job travelers and specifications, and maintaining production efficiency of at least 80%. The operator supports mold changeovers, monitors foam output, ensures product quality, and maintains a clean and safe work environment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Set up and operate I-65 spray injection molds according to job travelers and specifications 

  • Select and install the correct film for each mold and change film rolls as needed 

  • Adjust foam output to ensure proper mold fill and consistent part quality 

  • Inspect cushions and foam parts to confirm proper formation and specifications 

  • Assist with mold changeovers and production adjustments 

  • Maintain foam guns by keeping them clean and free of blockages 

  • Monitor and track scrap and material waste 

  • Perform routine housekeeping, including removal and replacement of scrap materials 

  • Identify and report product or process issues to support continuous improvement 

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and efficiency standards 

Must-haves:  

  • Ability to read and understand job travelers and production specifications 

  • Basic reading, writing, and computer skills 

  • Willingness to learn spray injection and foam processing techniques 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment 

  • Dependability and motivation to meet production and quality expectations 

  • Ability to wear steel-toed boots and required PPE 

Nice-to-Haves: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • 2+ years of machine operator or manufacturing experience 

  • Prior experience working with foam or injection equipment 

  • Experience tracking scrap, waste, or production efficiency metrics
