Job Title: General Ledger (GL) Manager
Location: Stoughton, MA
Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid — Onsite for initial training, then 2 days in-office / 3 days remote
Salary: $100,000/year

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Manager to join a mission-driven nonprofit in Stoughton, MA. This role is responsible for overseeing all general ledger operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting aligned with GAAP standards.

You will lead month-end and year-end close processes, maintain ledger integrity, manage journal entries, and support a small team of accountants and AP staff. Close collaboration with payroll, billing, and financial operations teams is key.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute monthly and year-end financial close

  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and reconciliations

  • Ensure integrity of the general ledger and GAAP compliance

  • Oversee AP operations: vendor payments, coding, approvals, and disbursements

  • Monitor AP aging, enforce internal controls, and maintain policy compliance

  • Generate monthly internal reports and perform variance analysis

  • Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Support ERP upgrades, testing, and process documentation

  • Supervise, train, and develop accounting and AP staff

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance reporting

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus or in progress)

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • 1+ year supervisory experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications

Compensation & Benefits:
