Warehouse Assistant – Temp to Hire
Location: Windsor CT 06095
Pay: $20 – $21 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
PPE Required: Steel-toe shoes (additional PPE provided)
Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a Warehouse Assistant for a temp-to-hire position. This role involves receiving and verifying shipments, staging and shipping orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and performing other warehouse-related tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of safety and comply with all safety protocols
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments; verify contents against packing slips
- Reject damaged goods and report issues to the Purchasing department
- Label, sort, and store inventory in the correct locations
- Pick and pack products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Verify outgoing shipments match picking tickets, including routing and quantity
- Track non-conforming products and returned goods
- Perform inventory cycle counts and support resolution of discrepancies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Use hand tools and assist with other warehouse operations as needed
- Follow ISO procedures and perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant warehouse, inventory, or receiving experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use common warehouse tools
- Proficient with computers and basic math
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with ISO-compliant work environments is a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work with a sense of urgency
- Operate computer systems and warehouse software (P21, Clippership, World Ship)
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting
- Regular use of hands, tools, and equipment
- Clean warehouse environment with occasional exposure to warehouse conditions
- Required PPE includes steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves
