Food Testing Laboratory Manager

- Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
- Compensation: Salary range based on experience 110-130k
Job Summary:
As the Laboratory Manager, you'll oversee all facets of laboratory operations, ensuring seamless communication with our clientele. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the quality, efficiency, and timely delivery of microbiological and chemical testing results. Collaborating closely with our corporate team, you'll have the authority to delegate responsibilities within the laboratory management team when necessary.Details:
- Pay: $110 - $125k/year DOE
- Shift: M-F 8am - 5pm
- Duration: Direct-hire (permanent position)
- Relocation package available including temporary housing options
Responsibilities:
- Supervise laboratory operations to uphold quality standards, efficiency, and timely completion of tasks.
- Respond promptly and accurately to customer inquiries, maintaining our commitment to exceptional service.
- Lead the recruitment process for laboratory personnel, facilitating performance reviews, and fostering professional development.
- Manage laboratory finances to ensure profitability.
- Collaborate with the laboratory team to achieve ISO 17025 compliance and implement the Corporate Quality Management System effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laboratory environment, overseeing maintenance operations.
- Ensure adherence to the Laboratory Safety Program at all times.
- Oversee non-routine projects as requested by clients or assigned by management.
- Stay updated on scientific advancements and industry trends through continuous learning.
- Conduct periodic audits of laboratory staff to ensure compliance with protocols.
- Directly engage with clients regarding laboratory capabilities, results, pricing, and related matters.
- Travel as required for business purposes.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned, including method verification.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of 5 to 30 individuals, depending on laboratory workload.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of laboratory management experience in a food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or related industry is required.
- Strong microbiology bench work experience required either current or recently.
- Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
