Food Safety Quality Specialist (FSQA) - Eau Claire, WI

Description

The Food Safety and Quality Specialist (FSQA) maintains programs to ensure Food Safety, Quality, and Compliance for maintaining consumer trust. The position oversees tasks relating to a number of programs including; Sanitation, Allergen Management, Foreign Body Prevention, Pest Control, Environmental Monitoring, Zoning, cGMPs, and Product protection plans. 
  • Quality Systems: enforce, manage, and analyze trends/verification activities for pre-requisite programs: Ensure risk assessments and Food Safety Management Systems are up to date. Perform implementation and maintenance of environmental monitoring programs. Root cause investigation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Analyze environmental monitoring data to find and destroy pathogens. Help complete food safety risk assessments of the facility and equipment. Work with Pest Control providers to identify and prevent any gaps in the facility. 
     
  • Developing and executing training of pre-requisite programs: Ensure compliance with factory procedures/practices by maintaining a strong coaching presence on the production floor. Work alongside Project Managers and Contractors to ensure facility hygiene. Drive improvement projects to improve pre-requisite programs. Provide oversight and guidance for factory sanitation. Lead continuous improvement of pre-requisite programs. 
     
  • Quality Verification and Quality Auditing:  Conduct GMP, foreign body, and pest control inspection of the facility. Maintain audit records and ensure completion of all corrective and preventive actions. Assist in annual HACCP reviews and floor walk throughs. Meticulously maintain records for all hygiene systems in accordance with ISO and regulatory requirements. 
     
  • Quality Management System: Continuous Improvement initiatives in the quest for zero defects.  Support activities to achieve Quality Management System requirements and other standards.  Identify non-conformances and coordinate Food Safety and Quality risk analysis. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent work experience in food manufacturing quality role.
  • Industry experience or internships in pre-requisite programs, sanitation, and hygiene 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pathogens and environmental monitoring 
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment subject to cGMPs and FDA requirements
