Sanitation Specialist – Food Manufacturing Industry

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and sanitize equipment, processing areas, and workspaces in strict accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
• Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitization
• Monitor and document sanitation procedures, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies
• Inspect facilities daily to identify potential sanitation concerns or food safety hazards
• Participate in regular training sessions on hygiene and food safety standards
• Collaborate closely with the production and quality assurance teams to support a safe and efficient operation
• Dispose of waste and manage environmental cleanliness throughout the facility
• Respond promptly to sanitation-related emergencies to minimize risks

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous sanitation or janitorial experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and relevant food safety standards
• Comfortable working with industrial cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals
• Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends if required
