Sanitation Specialist – Food Manufacturing Industry

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and sanitize equipment, processing areas, and workspaces in strict accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
- Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitization
- Monitor and document sanitation procedures, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies
- Inspect facilities daily to identify potential sanitation concerns or food safety hazards
- Participate in regular training sessions on hygiene and food safety standards
- Collaborate closely with the production and quality assurance teams to support a safe and efficient operation
- Dispose of waste and manage environmental cleanliness throughout the facility
- Respond promptly to sanitation-related emergencies to minimize risks
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous sanitation or janitorial experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and relevant food safety standards
- Comfortable working with industrial cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends if required
- Advancement to supervisory or lead roles within sanitation or quality assurance units
- Ongoing training in food safety, equipment operation, and compliance
- Cross-departmental career paths within production, quality assurance, or facility management
- Exposure to the latest sanitation technology and industry best practices
