Experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator

- Location: Savannah, GA
- Pay 20-25/hr
As an Experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator, you will specialize in cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling metal sheets to create high-quality products. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints, selecting materials, and utilizing metalworking equipment such as press brakes, laser cutters, and welding tools. You'll thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on safety, precision, and efficiency. The schedule for this position is a rotating 4 ON - 4 OFF shift, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints and work orders to safely produce sheet metal components
- Select appropriate materials in accordance with job specifications
- Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to specified dimensions
- Measure, cut, and weld pieces together based on directions, blueprints, or specifications
- Work on assembly lines as needed
- Operate specialized machinery and use relevant software applications to complete assignments
- Coordinate equipment shutdowns and startups with other departments and maintenance staff
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Carry out other related duties as required
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Previous experience in custom sheet metal fabrication
- TIG welding experience is an asset
- Welding certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred
- Basic knowledge of turret punch, laser combo, and press brake equipment
- Proficient with hand tools, calipers, and measuring tapes
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and construct products with precision
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of working independently or within a team
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to understand machine functions and make necessary adjustments
- High attention to detail and proactive mindset
- Willingness to obtain (in-house) forklift certification
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
