Job Posting: Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator

Purpose:
As an Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator at our Franklin, KY location, you will manage onsite environmental and sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with RCRA EPA regulations, handling waste processing, environmental compliance, and utility reduction through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Environmental Specialist and EHS Manager in environmental administrative responsibilities, including wastewater and stormwater sampling and reporting.
  • Conduct inspections to mitigate compliance risks across various site operations.
  • Manage the RCRA Hazardous Waste program, ensuring proper waste organization, processing, and documentation.
  • Operate and maintain fork truck operations for hazard waste responsibilities.
  • Implement projects to reduce site waste.
  • Oversee onsite sustainability programs and track performance metrics.
  • Manage recycling personnel and order necessary waste pickups.
  • Partner with site contractors for pollution prevention and maintain required documentation.
  • Conduct environmental training for employees.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives, set annual goals, and proactively implement process changes.
  • Engage with engineering and maintenance for cost-effective utility reduction projects.
  • Support health & safety operations and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental, Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental compliance management/sustainability in manufacturing.
  • Ability to train in RCRA and DOT, company-specific applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask.
  • Preferred environmental certifications such as CES, CHMM, REM.
