We are seeking a highly capable Engineering Manager with a strong background in precision machining to lead, coach, and mentor a team of up to 10 engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise and proven leadership in high-pressure environments, motivating teams to deliver exceptional results while supporting professional growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of up to 10 engineers and technicians in a fast-paced, high-stress manufacturing environment.
- Oversee daily operations, project assignments, and technical deliverables within the precision machining department.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and employee development.
- Provide guidance on technical issues, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Lead team through complex problem-solving and decision-making under tight timelines and high expectations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, development planning, and goal setting.
- Coordinate closely with other teams including production, quality, and supply chain to ensure project success.
- Contribute to recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline (required).
- 5+ years' experience in precision machining environments.
- Minimum 2 years' experience managing engineering teams of up to 10 employees.
- Proven success coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Ability to thrive and lead effectively in high-stress, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of precision machining processes, equipment, and standards.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) preferred.
