Full time contract to direct opportunity in Liberty, SC for an Electro-Mechanical Technician.
1st shift 7am - 4p
$30.00/hr
Must have Circuit Board and Soldering experience to qualify.


This position is responsible for providing direct technical support for the build, acceptance testing, proving/validation/qualification testing and technical troubleshooting of prototype ignition system components or airframe power products in a laboratory environment. 
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/COMPETENCIES
 

  • Read and understand detailed drawings, circuit board schematics, and work instructions to assist in manufacture of prototype ignition system components.
  • Populate prototype circuit boards, soldering (fine pitch surface mount, thru-hole, and point to point wiring), and execution of testing under written and/or verbal instructions. 
  • Inspect circuit boards using various diagnostic equipment and techniques to ensure conformance of components and assemblies to the relevant engineering requirements.
  • Design and manufacture basic tools, test equipment and circuits that may be required to manufacture or inspect electronic assemblies.
  • Provide marked up drawings, schematics, and work instructions to document the actual assembly methods used in building prototypes.
  • Assist with proving, qualification and functional testing of experimental ignition system components to engineering requirements to support qualification of the product.  This may include programming of PLCs, temperature controllers or other similar devices to automate vibration, electrical, thermal, EMI or other testing requirements.
  • Perform testing and disassembly of prototypes to support evaluation of developmental and field returned hardware.
  • Provide technical input during the design phase of experimental ignition systems to enhance the manufacturability of the product.
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 
  • Minimum educational requirement for this position is a two (2) year technical degree or equivalent experience. 
  • In addition, the individual should possess expertise in basic electronic component assembly and testing skills including: 
  • Current Soldering Certifications in accordance with IPCA 610 (electrical only) 
  • Current Soldering Certification in accordance with J-Standard 001 (mechanical and electrical components) preferred.
  • Programming controllers (Temperature, PLCs, etc…)
  • Operation and data acquisition from Oscilloscopes
  • Basic programming skills to develop interfaces and interaction with hardware and software data acquisition tools
  • Operation of Variable Voltage/Frequency AC  and DC Power Supplies
  • Operation of Electrodynamic Vibration Test Systems
  • Experience with testing of High Voltage Circuits
  • Experience with Anechoic Chambers and Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing
