Position Title: Division Controller
Location: On-site – Golden Triangle
Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000 (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Kelly Services is partnering with a leading construction industry client in the Lumberton area to find an experienced Division Controller to lead full-cycle accounting operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting functions, managing a growing finance team, and ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Operations: Lead and manage full-cycle accounting processes including A/P, A/R, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.

  • Job Costing & POC Accounting: Oversee construction-related accounting functions including job costing, percent-of-completion revenue recognition, and budget variance analysis.

  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage accounting staff. Build a high-performing team aligned with company values and goals.

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare internal financial reports, conduct account analysis, and support month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure timely filing of sales tax returns, support audits, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Treasury & Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, assist with LOC draws, and manage intercompany transactions in collaboration with the CFO.

  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with executive leadership on special projects, M&A activities, and financial planning initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction or related industry

  • Strong background in job costing and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting

  • Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation

  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred

Work Environment & Culture:

  • Schedule: On-site, Monday–Friday (7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

  • Location: Golden Triangle, TX – remote work not available except for rare circumstances

  • Dress Code: Business casual – jeans and button-down shirts; clean work boots or dress shoes
