Job Title: Copy Machine Operator I
Location: West Sacramento, CA
Schedule: 4PM – 12:30AM (2–3 weeks of day-shift training prior to transitioning to swing shift.)
Pay: $18/hr. (OT available weekly and on weekends)
Summary
The Digital Imaging Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of digital printing machines and related equipment. This role ensures the highest quality output per company and client specifications and operates in an efficient, organized manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate black toner and color digital printing machines, including USB duplicators, check printers, envelope printers, and bindery equipment.
- Output high-quality printed goods with effective speed and efficiency.
- Operate multiple production machines simultaneously as needed.
- Manage incoming and archived electronic print files, ensuring outputs to the correct equipment.
- Perform set-up and electronic file adjustments for proper production results.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machines; update maintenance records.
- Prepare and select samples/proofs for internal or client review, as requested.
- Recommend improvements to machine processes, procedures, or department goals.
- Train teammates on machine operation and procedures as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years experience in digital print machine operations and maintenance, preferably with accredited training in graphic arts.
- Knowledge of digital printing workflows and relevant software applications.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supervisor instructions, and safety, security, and quality protocols.
- Good mechanical aptitude and sharp vision skills for controlling accuracy and color quality.
- Able to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Careful attention to detail; reviews work for completeness and accuracy.
- Good interpersonal skills; works effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Regularly required to lift/move up to 15 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must stand or sit for extended periods, walk, reach, use hands/fingers for handling materials and operating keyboards, open cartons, stoop, and bend.
- Specific vision abilities required include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work settings may include office, manufacturing, or operations environments, with occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, moderate noise, and moving mechanical parts or airborne particles.
