Description

Kelly is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician for a temp-to-hire position at a premier client in Auburndale, FL. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to then Kelly is the spot for you!

Technical Skills:

PLC and Automation:
- Extensive experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PLC hardware and software systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of PLC platforms such as Beckhoff or Siemens.
- Ability to read and interpret PLC I/O maps.

Electrical and Controls Systems:
- Strong understanding of wiring diagrams, blueprints, and control schematics.
- Hands-on experience with VFD and PLC wiring.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting low and high-voltage systems.
- Capable of installing and maintaining electrical control panels and wiring systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair motors, drives, and relays.

Networking and Control Systems:
- Experience in the use and maintenance of human-machine interfaces (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols like Ethernet, EtherCat, Profibus, or DeviceNet.

Mechanical and Other Systems:
- Ability to perform advanced maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in repairing components that require welding, plumbing, or fabrication.
- Knowledge of replacing high-load components such as bearings, shafts, and actuators.
- Capability to use advanced diagnostic tools and precision alignment tools.

Maintenance and Documentation Skills

· Documentation: Ability to document all PLC updates and maintenance activities, as well as to maintain detailed records of repairs and parts usage.

· Data Management: Ability to use and maintain digital systems like CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track assets, document maintenance histories, and manage parts inventories.

· Analysis and Problem-Solving: Ability to perform a root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures to propose long-term solutions.

· Project Support: Ability to lead or support the installation, rebuilding, or upgrading of equipment, including support for the commissioning of new machinery.

Personal and Leadership Skills

· Problem-Solving: Strong technical reasoning and diagnostic thinking skills to solve complex problems independently.

· Safety: Commitment to safety, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

· Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to work independently or on a team, with a proactive attitude to mentor junior technicians and promote accountability and collaboration across shifts.

· Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and reports, with a focus on continuous improvement.
