Contract Control Systems Technician (DeltaV)
6 Week Outage in Baton Rouge Louisiana
-They need board level Control System Technicians
Folks will be in the board control rooms not wondering around the refinery. Manager wants heavy Board Controls Techs or Engineers that can perform loop checks on control systems.
-DeltaV is preferred but any PLC's are fine.
-Must have a TWIC Card to work in the plant
-Must be able to pass a DISA drug and background
-They are working 6 days a week 12 hour shifts—72 hours a week for 6-8 weeks
1.5 x pay on OT
Pay rate is $70-80 per hour plus $178 per day pediem for all 7 days per week
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Technician (CST) with expertise in DeltaV systems to perform loop checks during a 6-week plant outage in Louisiana. The CST will collaborate closely with Instrument Technicians in the field to ensure the integrity and functionality of control systems. This is a temporary, high-intensity role requiring 6 days of 12-hour shifts per week for the duration of the outage.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform loop checks on control systems using DeltaV to verify proper operation of instrumentation and control loops.
· Collaborate with Instrument Technicians in the field to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control system performance.
· Validate and document loop check results, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
· Assist in the testing, and calibration of DeltaV control systems as needed.
· Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and site-specific safety requirements.
· Provide technical support and guidance to field teams during loop check activities.
· Maintain accurate records of all tests, findings, and resolutions for project documentation.
Qualifications
· Control Systems Technician working with DeltaV systems.
· Proven expertise in performing loop checks and troubleshooting control systems in industrial environments.
· Strong understanding of instrumentation, control loops, and process automation.
· Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams, loop drawings, and control system schematics.
· Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in industrial settings, particularly during plant outages.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with Instrument Technicians and other field personnel.
· Ability to work 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week, for the 6-week duration of the outage.
· Valid driver's license, TWIC, DISA and ability to travel to the job site in Louisiana.
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience working on plant outages or shutdowns in the oil, gas, or chemical industries.
· Certification or training in DeltaV systems.
· Familiarity with additional control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA) is a plus.
