What's a typical day as a Construction Inspector - Roadway & Facilities? You'll be:
• Overseeing construction inspection activities to ensure compliance with project plans, approved shop/working drawings, project documents, and specifications.
• Reporting observations orally and in writing to direct report.
• Applying engineering principles and following established procedures.
• Preparing and submitting accurate, legible, comprehensive, and complete testing and/or inspection reports.
• Reviewing plans, specifications, general notes, and shop/working drawings.
• Performing and supervising field tests on materials and completed work.
• Training and serving as a lead worker for less experienced workers.
• Assisting in planning and coordinating inspection operations.
• Maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
• Adhering to health and safety standards.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway and related facilities construction inspection or NICET Level IV certification in Transportation Engineering Technology Highway Construction.
• Possess a valid driver's license and meet auto insurability requirements.
• Have good oral and written communication skills.
• Can perform mathematical calculations using basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Have certifications such as Troxler Manufacturing radiation safety course, State-specific Technician Training and Certification Program (TTCP), and ACI Field Testing Technician Level 1 (preferred).
