Comparator Sourcing Specialist
Summary:
As the Comparator Sourcing Specialist, External Partnerships (EP) you will be responsible for ensuring comparator products for clinical supply. This may include sourcing, procure-to-pay, S&OP, and order management processes. Execute the Planning process between J&J Clinical Supply Operations and the vendors, seek opportunities for cost savings and serve as connection for issue resolution. The External Partnerships team is focused on delivering cost effective clinical supply in a compliant, supply efficient manner to ensure Successful Patient Dosing. Partnering and closely collaborating with External Partners (Vendors), Quality, Engineering, Clinical source Documentation, Finance, Planning, Clinical Supply Operations, and Logistics will be key to success.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing of comparators from preferred suppliers
- Work with vendors to identify supply that meets the technical, cost, and lead time requirements of the Clinical Supply Integrator.
- Manage POs from requisition through invoicing to PO closure
- Work with vendors, manage sourcing cycle times, drive actions at order level for vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), budgets, supply coordination, and decisions related to clinical supply activities resulting in uninterrupted supply to patients
- Escalates appropriately and supports resolution of critical risks and issues, including communication to EP management.
- Collaborate with internal business partners such as Quality, Engineering, Clinical source Documentation, Logistics, Planning, and Clinical Supply Operations team members to ensure effective supply chain management
- Identify short term opportunities to drive cost savings and protect supply
- Ensure project timelines and business performance goals, objectives and metrics are achieved, including consistency with GMP guidelines and all other compliance requirements
- Support cross-functional projects to improve business process/tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3-5+ years related experience
- Experience in at least one of the following: Clinical Supply Chain, Comparators, Sourcing or Procurement
- Able to influence supply chain teams in an international environment through negotiating and partnering.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with ability to communicate clearly and appropriately to vendor sites and cross functional stakeholders in both written & oral forms.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage complexity.
- Experience with Microsoft applications: Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams
- Ability to anticipate gaps or problems and the impact to supply related processes
Preferred:
- Master's Degree
- Supply chain certification (e.g. APICS)
- Experience with several of the following clinical supply processes is a plus: supplier relationship management, inventory management, supply chain management, supply planning, Lean and 6sigma, systems (e-marketplace, OMP, SAP R/3 or ERP), other cross-functional business processes common to the pharmaceutical or process industry
- Experience with GMP and/or Quality management systems and processes
- Ability to identify process gaps based on data or root cause analysis, ability to predict impact of supply related processes.
