CNC Machinist needed in Bolingbrook, Illinois
1st shift: 5am – 1:30pm
$25-$28/hr
Job Summary:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing precision machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment. This role ensures quality and safety standards are met while maintaining accurate records and performing routine equipment maintenance. Proficiency with Mazatrol conversational programming is essential for success in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, and machining parameters.
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Performs any other associated job-related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:
 
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years' experience
  • Experience with Mazak machines: Hands-on experience operating Mazak lathes, mills, or multi-tasking machines
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol conversational programming language is required; ability to create, edit, and troubleshoot programs using Mazatrol interface
  • Basic Math skills
  • Basic Computer skills
