Description

Kelly is now hiring Manufacturing CNC Machine Operator's for Kennametal Inc. in LaVergne, TN. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will operate and maintain multiple CNC 3- and 4-axis periphery grinding machines, producing high-quality inserts that adhere to precise blueprint specifications and quality standards. - Pay Rate: $22 - $26 per hour
- Shift: 1st (7 AM - 3 PM), 2nd (3 PM - 11 PM), 3rd (11 PM - 7 AM)

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate multiple CNC periphery grinding machines, including Dom, Wendt, Combi, Leo, and Penta models.
- Measure and gauge inserts to ensure compliance with specified dimensions.
- Visually inspect inserts under a microscope to verify surface and edge quality.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to plant safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Follow all operating procedures, work instructions, and grinding inspection control plans.
- Ensure products are processed according to routing sheets and specifications.
- Meet or exceed daily departmental production targets.
- Maintain a reliable presence on the production floor and communicate safety, quality, and production concerns promptly.
- Accurately separate and document scrap and conforming products.
- Scan and record all relevant production data.

Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience with CNC grinding operations is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for approximately eight hours per shift, with intermittent walking, reaching, bending, and sitting.
- Must be able to lift and move trays weighing up to 33 pounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
