Kelly Services is now hiring for Kennametal in Traverse City for a CNC machine Operator

1st shift- 6am-230pm
$19.00 per hr.
contract to Hire!
 

Summary

• The Machine Operator performs essential job functions within the manufacturing department.  This position is responsible for ensuring continuous product flow.  This position is also involved in new product development.

 

Duties

• Set-up and operate machines of a similar type (conventional or CNC) on a regular basis (includes tooling changes and programming CNC controls)
• Preventive maintenance of machinery
• Work on a variety of complex parts to close tolerances with average to complicated set-ups
• Work with minimal support or supervision
• Select appropriate feeds, speeds & tooling
• Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and production efficiency issues
• Assures appropriate material and tools are available
• Support Lean Enterprise, Quality, Safety & Productivity initiatives through appropriate levels of participation

 

Experience

 

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma OR GED
• Must obtain knowledge of the general Health & Safety procedures of Kennametal Inc.
• Good communication skills
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to demonstrate strong mathematical skills    

 

PREFERRED:

• 3-5 years' experience in the manufacturing environment is preferred
• Machine operation experience
• Technical school certification or Apprenticeship program of completion
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Commitment to quality & customer satisfaction
