Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Client Name: Kelly
Location: Fremont, CA
Pay Rate: $35.00 / hour
Shift: 10 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of overtime.
Job Description:
The Building Maintenance Technician maintains laboratories and offices in a manufacturing facility. They provide support to site improvement and special projects, ensuring that facility activities adhere to quality systems standards. The role requires keeping the facility in a state of inspection readiness at all times and interacting with building occupants to resolve calls for issues such as hot/cold, plumbing, leaks, noise, odors, fire system problems, and much more. The technician must be able to execute facility-related capital projects, coordinate small tenant improvements, and manage contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all facilities equipment and utilities in compliance with regulatory standards and ensure they are in good working order.
- Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, BMS system, fire/life safety, and other systems.
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems.
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management systems, and perform building repairs.
- Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations.
- Recognize deviations from accepted practice requirements.
- Troubleshoot failures, replace defective components using hand/power tools, test equipment, mathematics, operating manuals, specs, prints, verbal, and/or written instructions.
- Apply knowledge of cGMPs daily.
- Provide written documentation of activities via work orders, PMs, formal root cause analysis, management reports, discrepancies/non-conformance reports, engineering change orders (ECO), and validations.
- Communicate the status of work assignments to internal customers.
- Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage or support key audit and compliance activities.
- Assist in updating, creating, and assigning work orders.
- Promote safe work practices; work safely at all times.
- Respond to emergency notifications.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of related experience, with 2-3 years working in a cGMP environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Understanding of quality systems and change order requirements in a validated facility is required.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow spoken and written instructions in English.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate reports.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with contractors and employees.
