Job Details:

  • Job Type: Permanent, Direct-Hire
  • Location: 100% remote
  • Pay range: dependent on experience and skills
    • Post-doctoral Research Associate Level:
      • PhD + 0-2 years of post-doctorate work experience
      • Target pay range: $60,000-$80,000/ year
    • PhD Scientist Level:
      • PhD + 3-7+ years of post-doctorate work experience
      • Target pay range: $80,000-$140,000+/year


Position Overview:

A research-intensive academic program is seeking a PhD-level researcher to support projects focused on understanding complex biological systems and their role in health-related interventions.

The group is recognized for its contributions to the development of novel biological therapies. These therapies are applied across a range of clinical areas, involving the interaction of microbial communities and the human body. The program also supports multiple ongoing clinical studies.

The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to investigate how these biological systems behave and change over time. This includes identifying key elements within diverse data sets and using computational approaches to derive meaningful insights for future research and product development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply computational methods to large-scale biological data sets, including sequence and functional information
  • Collaborate with internal team members to interpret results and develop new research directions
  • Contribute to scholarly outputs such as manuscripts and funding proposals
  • Assist in mentoring early-career researchers
  • Take advantage of opportunities for professional growth


Required Qualifications:

  • PhD (or equivalent) in a quantitative or computational discipline related to biology
  • Experience analyzing biological data in a human health context
  • Proficiency in at least one major data analysis language (e.g., R, Python)
  • Familiarity with approaches used in studying microbial communities
  • Evidence of strong research and communication skills
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in integrating diverse data types
  • Strong publication track record
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive research tasks
