About the Role

A organization is seeking a Benefits and Wellness Specialist for a temporary assignment within the Human Resources department. This position is open due to an unexpected vacancy and will play a vital role in maintaining seamless benefits administration and supporting employee wellness and engagement initiatives.

This role requires a hands-on HR professional who can manage benefits programs, ensure compliance, and contribute to the development of total rewards strategies that enhance employee experience and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benefits Administration:
    Oversee onboarding processes related to benefits and ensure smooth transitions for new hires.
    Coordinate retirement and stock ownership plan activities, enrollments, terminations, and vendor communications.
    Manage benefit data entry, invoicing, and reconciliations.

  • Employee Engagement & Wellness:
    Evaluate and enhance benefit programs that support employee satisfaction and well-being.
    Lead annual open enrollment, employee education, and benefits communications.
    Analyze wellness program participation and recommend improvements.

  • Compliance & Reporting:
    Maintain benefit procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
    Track and analyze benefit trends, market data, and utilization reports to ensure competitiveness.

  • Collaboration & Communication:
    Partner with vendors, plan providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient program management.
    Support employee inquiries with empathy, accuracy, and professionalism.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5–10 years of experience in benefits administration and wellness program management.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and HRIS systems.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly range: $31–$39, commensurate with experience.
