Associate Scientist – Louisville, CO

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Associate Scientist to support analytical development and characterization of Lentiviral Vector (LVV) and CAR-T cell products. The successful candidate will execute molecular, cellular, biophysical, and biochemical protocols, contribute to routine testing, and maintain high-quality laboratory records.
Contract: 6-month contract, potential for ongoing extension
Shift: M-F 1st shift
Pay Rate: $43/hr - $52/hr

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities include:

  • Execute and support bioanalytical assays for characterization of Lentiviral Vector (LVV) and CAR-T cell products, following established protocols and under the guidance of Senior Scientists.
  • Perform routine and advanced laboratory experiments to assess T-cell binding, activation, transduction efficiency, payload expression, and antigen-specific cytotoxicity.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed experimental records in electronic lab notebooks, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in the development, qualification, and transfer of analytical methods.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of experimental work using an electronic notebook system in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Prepare summaries of technical data and contribute to technical reports.
  • Support documentation for IND submissions, especially EoS sections, by compiling data, preparing technical reports, and contributing to method write-ups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Research, Process Development) to coordinate sample testing and share results.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and optimization of assays as needed, contributing to continuous improvement of analytical workflows.
  • Adhere to company policies and promote core values to ensure safety and quality of gene therapy products and facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline and 4+ years of experience; or an Associate Degree in life sciences or similar and 6+ years of experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following techniques: cell culture, primary cell-based cytotoxicity assays, flow cytometry, ddPCR, MSD, JESS, ELISA.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; respectful and open to new ideas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, with the proven ability to build open and collaborative relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with viral vectors (e.g., LVV) is a plus.
  • Experience with experimental design, execution, and basic data analysis is a plus.
  • Self-motivation, organization, effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work on multiple projects.
