Assistant Service Manager
Salary: $85,000-95,000
Location: Saline, MI – 100% Onsite
Kelly Services has partnered with a top-tier organization in the manufacturing industry seeking an Assistant Service Manager to join their team. The Assistant Service Manager will oversee the Parts and Shipping departments while providing support to the Service Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring daily operations run smoothly, including inventory management, pricing, sales, and distribution. The supervisor will also lead and coach staff, handle employee discipline and termination according to company policy, and plan the use of resources to meet customer service expectations. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Ensure staff meet customer service expectations and resolve customer concerns.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Oversee daily operations, including inventory, pricing, sales, and distribution.
- Plan the use of materials and human resources.
- Provide leadership and coaching to staff, including assigning tasks and resolving operational issues.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train employees for each department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyze logistics costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with other managers to coordinate activities in and among departments.
- Collect and report data to monitor productivity and operational efficiencies.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure suppliers provide goods and services within budgetary limits.
- Manage financial and budget activities.
- Manage the movement of goods into and out of facilities.
- Monitor and track progress, identifying and resolving problems.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure accurate inventory data to avoid overstocking or shortages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Review financial statements, sales reports, and other data to measure productivity.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Five years of related experience with at least two years of supervisory experience, required.
- Excellent communication and strong presentation skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and effective negotiation strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel to build formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Experience with Salesforce integration is a plus!
