Job Title: Animal Care Technician
Location: Western Inland Empire (commutable from Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Ontario, and surrounding areas)
Pay: $22/hour DOE
Type: Contract-to-Hire

Overview:
A well-established research organization in the Western Inland Empire is seeking a dedicated Animal Care Technician to support laboratory animal care and vivarium operations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal welfare and scientific research in a controlled lab environment.

Schedule: Day shift; flexibility required for occasional weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Animal Husbandry: Provide routine care including feeding, hydration, and health monitoring of lab animals.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and inventory of animal rooms and supplies; support pest control efforts.
• Research Support: Assist with surgical prep, instrument sterilization, sample collection, and post-procedure monitoring.
• Lab Operations: Support general lab upkeep and equipment sterilization.
• Recordkeeping: Accurately document animal health, procedures, and research data.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in biology or animal science preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods and handling animals
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
