Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Albany, NY
Company: Local Manufacturer
Hours: 8am - 5pm (1 hour lunch)
Pay Rate: $20-30/hour
About Us:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to support daily accounting operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and proper coding to general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire payments.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical files for all accounts payable transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing or payment inquiries.
- Support audits by providing documentation and account details as requested.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience required; manufacturing industry experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems or ERP software.
