Job Description: Financial Manager (pharmaceutical manufacturer)
Position: Financial Manager
Location: Bridgewater, NJ Hybrid
Reporting to: Senior Manager
Employment Type: Temporary position (open-ended, indefinite contract)
Salary: $60-75/hr. based on experience
Overview:
We are seeking a Financial Manager with a strong background in accounting or finance. The ideal candidate will have experience in balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and reviewing financial activities. This role is positioned to take on the detailed and routine tasks to support the senior management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Balance Sheet and Journal Entries: Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries. Support and approve transactions in the system.
- Excel Reporting: Consolidate and approve balances, mainly through schedules and detailed Excel reports.
- Audit Coordination: Collaborate with auditors by answering questions, providing support for reconciliations and journal entries, and ensuring compliance.
- System Transactions: Manage and approve every accounting entry transaction, especially focusing on month-end processes.
- Journal Entry Approval: Experience with reviewing month-end manual journal entries, providing constructive feedback to enhance documentation.
- GTN Balance Sheets: Review monthly reconciliations for Gross to Nets (GTN) balance sheet accounts and ensure items are identified and cleared promptly.
- Collaboration: Work with internal and external partners to evaluate GTN accruals, prepare accounting memos, and manage internal and external audit requests.
- Special Projects: Assist with any special projects as needed.
- Educational Background: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Several years of experience in financial management, specifically with journal entry approval and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Managerial Experience: Previous experience managing a team of 1-3 people.
- Audit Experience: Proficiency in working with auditors and responding to audit queries.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to handle and review detailed transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Experience with fixed assets accounting (revenue accounting not required).
- Familiarity with Gross to Nets processes is ideal, though in-depth revenue experience is not necessary.
- Specific experience in forecasting, analytics, and subject matter expertise in financial management.
- Team Dynamics: The role includes 2 direct reports and works closely with the Senior Manager, Chris.
- Temporary Role: This position is initially approved as a temporary role but may develop into a permanent position in the future.
