Kelly Services is partnering with a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer to hire a Senior Staff Accountant for their growing finance team in North Charleston, SC. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment and wants to make an impact across multiple business entities.
As the Senior Staff Accountant, you'll be a key contributor in managing fixed assets, general ledger accounting, and month-end close activities. You'll also support financial analysis, budgeting, and process improvements that help drive business success.
This position is fully onsite—ideal for someone who enjoys being part of an engaged team and working closely with cross-functional departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and construction-in-progress accounting
- Manage and reconcile project reporting within JD Edwards (ERP)
- Lead fixed asset audits and support year-end reporting
- Prepare and analyze journal entries and account reconciliations for the company and its subsidiaries
- Support timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
- Partner with internal departments on budgeting, variance analysis, and process documentation
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting
- Proficiency with JD Edwards (or similar ERP systems)
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
