2nd shift PLC Technician
Location: Wharton, NJ
2nd Shift: Hours: 2pm to 10:30pm
Pay: $40 to $45 per hour based on experiene

KELLY has partnered with a global leader in beverage manufacturing who produces a wide range of drinks for national and international retailers and brands and we're looking for a skilled PLC Technician to support our fast-paced production environment.
Position OverviewThe PLC Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading automated systems and equipment. This role is critical to ensuring production efficiency, safety, and compliance with food quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to all health, safety, GMP, and food safety policies.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment failures and collaborate with production teams.
- Maintain, test, and upgrade production equipment and automation systems.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC and automation issues, including wiring and component failures.
- Calibrate and test equipment for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with PLC system upgrades and modifications for process optimization.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, programming changes, and upgrades.
- Train team members on basic PLC functions and troubleshooting.
- Perform preventative and planned mechanical maintenance.
- Promote continuous improvement and safe workplace practices.
- Foster respectful and effective communication across departments.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
- Proficiency in RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, or RS Logix 5.
- Ability to go online with Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC500, or PLC5 using Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.
- Ability to download PLC programs and modify existing code.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID symbols.
- Use multimeters and work safely in control panels up to 480VAC.
- Replace and configure AB Powerflex and Yaskawa VFDs.
- Replace Panelview devices and download applications using Panelbuilder 32 or RS View Studio.
- Strong aptitude for technical skill development.
- Decisive, proactive, and self-motivated.

- Independent problem solver with leadership potential.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs required.
- Electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills required.
- Rockwell Maintainer or equivalent certificate preferred (must be obtained within 24 months if not already held).
- Must pass a Maintenance Skills Assessment.
- Fast-paced production environment with moving machinery.
- Noise levels require hearing protection.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures depending on season.
- Structured environment with clear production targets and schedules.
