
Description
The Nurse Practitioner is a professional nurse with advanced education and training in primary and emergency care of patients. The nurse Practitioner at VHH-ER must rely on standardized procedures and follow the Nurse Practice Act (NPA) when delivering care.
Essential Functions:
- Dependent upon area of practice or department assignments, demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in the care of patients for emergent and non-emergent complaints and symptoms.
- Performs other related services as permitted by standardized protocols and within the scope of their licensure.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Education:
Graduate from Accredited Nursing School with Master's Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
- Prefer one year experience in Emergency Medicine or equivalent experience in Urgent Care
- Competency in performing minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.),
- Competency in interpreting lab and diagnostic results.
Required License/Certification:
- Current California Nurse Practitioner License
- Current California RN License
- National Provider Identifier Number
- Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Certificate with Schedule II Furnishing privileges
- Drug Enforcement Agency License/Number
- Current BCLS certification from American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification from American Heart Association
- AB 508 Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer into the department, and maintained by renewal before expiration date
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into the department, and maintained by renewal before expiration date

The hourly rate range for this position is $52.00 - $105.00.
