The Health Equity Analyst will support the advancement of clinical quality outcomes and patient experience improvement initiatives across the health system by ensuring health equity is embedded in all strategies and actions. This role involves analyzing and interpreting healthcare data to identify disparities in clinical processes, outcomes, and patient experiences, and working closely with cross-functional teams to implement evidence-based practices that improve health equity for all patient populations.
Essential Duties:
- Data Analysis & Reporting: • Analyze clinical and patient experience data to identify health disparities across different patient populations, with a focus demographic, socioeconomic characteristics, and other social drivers of health. • Prepare and present detailed reports to leadership, highlighting areas of improvement, disparities, and opportunities for intervention. • Develop and maintain dashboards that track key health equity metrics across clinical quality outcomes, patient experience initiatives, and financial impact.
- Health Equity Strategy Development: • Collaborate with clinical, quality, community benefit and patient experience teams to design and implement health equity strategies that aim to reduce disparities and improve care for all patients. • Support the integration of health equity principles into the development of clinical pathways, quality improvement projects, and patient experience initiatives. • Provide recommendations for evidence-based interventions that promote health equity in clinical care and patient interactions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and administrative staff, to promote health equity in patient care practices and policies. • Act as a liaison with community partners and advocacy groups to understand the needs of underserved populations and inform health equity initiatives. • Assist in the development of training and educational materials related to cultural competency, health disparities, and patient-centered care for staff across the organization.
- Quality Improvement & Performance Monitoring: • Support the design and implementation of quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities in clinical outcomes and patient experience. • Monitor performance on key quality and patient experience measures, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to achieve equitable outcomes. • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of policies and practices that impact vulnerable or underserved populations within the health system.
- Compliance & Accreditation Support: • Ensure that health equity initiatives are aligned with accreditation requirements and regulatory standards, including those set by the Joint Commission, CMS, HCAI, and other relevant bodies. • Support the preparation of reports and documentation related to health equity for regulatory compliance, performance audits, and accreditation processes.

Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor's Degree In Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Policy, Health Equity, Nursing, Sociology, or a related field.
- Req 4 years Experience in healthcare analytics, quality improvement, public health, population health or a related field, with a strong focus on advancing health equity and improving patient outcomes and experiences.
- Req Experience with healthcare data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, SPSS) and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Req Familiarity with clinical quality measures, patient experience surveys, and accreditation standards (e.g., HCAHPS, NCQA, TJC, DNV).
- Req Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Req Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present data-driven insights to both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Req Knowledge of health disparities, social drivers of health, and strategies for addressing health inequities in a clinical setting.
- Req Ability to work independently and as part of a team to implement improvements across the health system.
- Req Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Master's degree
- Pref Familiarity with equity-focused frameworks and models for healthcare improvement, such as the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's (IHI) Triple Aim or the Health Equity Framework.
- Pref Experience with patient experience tools, such as Press Ganey or NRC Health, is a plus.
- Pref Certification - Job Relevant Certification in healthcare quality (e.g., CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality).
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00.
