The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Director oversees the administrative and clinical operations that impact the professional practice of both nurse practitioners and physician assistants at Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. A key objective for the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Director is to support industry standard of APP practiceand implementation of best practices across Keck Medical Center of USC. The Director is responsible for leading and supporting professional practice changes to ensure quality and efficient patient care across multiple APP areas. They provide direction and oversight of Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants) through excellent management, coaching, and mentoring to make sure their development is in concert with Keck Medical Center of USC mission, values, and goals. The APP Director will develop structured APP associated metrics for assessing APP specific outcomes and participate in cost-savings and revenue generating practices. The APP Director will also ensure that APPs meet both state and federal regulatory agency requirements. Practicing outstanding performance-management skills, they will promote and encourage an empowered and engaged leadership team and workforce by establishing and maintaining a practice environment consistent with Keck commitment to patient centered care, new knowledge and innovation, team collaboration, and evidence-based practice. By building collaborative relationships with multiple counterparts and key stakeholders, including physician, nursing, and administrative leadership, Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Director will support the advancement of organizational goals, programs, and projects. This position will be responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures regarding hiring, credentialing, privileging, care-delivery model, performance appraisal/competency assessment are expertly met.

- Essential Job Functions ◦ Manages or collaborates with assigned staff and functions by assigning work, developing work procedures consistent with hospital policy, establishing work schedules and monitoring work performance performed by subordinates to meet agreed-upon goals, objectives, and target dates. ◦ May perform management functions by interviewing and hiring staff members; providing or arranging for training for subordinates; evaluating performance; and recommending or initiating personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, merit salary increases, or disciplinary action to ensure adequate and competent staffing as well as initiating or recommending responses to employee grievances. ◦ Participate in or lead efforts to assess outcomes of APP care throughout Keck/Norris Hospital and USC CARE Medical Group including peer review and professionalism program for APPs • Collaborates with OIC and Medical staff to support the privileging and credentialing needs of advance practice providers ◦ Ensure that APPs meet or exceed various local, state, and federal regulatory agency requirements. ◦ Ensure that APPs throughout Keck/Norris Hospital and USC CARE Medical Group have evidence-based practices that support cost-savings and revenue generating initiatives. ◦ Collaborates with the Center for Advanced Practice to create, support, or lead initiatives to improve the work environment of APPs throughout Keck/Norris Hospital and USC CARE Medical Group. o Support the shared leadership model of shared governance and participates in Magnet activities ◦ ◦ May also participate in a clinical practice.

Required Qualifications:
- Req Master's degree Advanced Practice Provider - *Master's Degree In Nursing, OR Physician Assistant (PA), Or Other Healthcare-Related Field From An Accredited University.
- Req 5 years Experience as a licensed Advanced Practice Provider: (Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner)
- Req 2 years Management or leadership experience over advance practice providers.
- Req Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, medical practice guidelines, physician assistant practice agreement and scope of APP roles.
- Req Ability to communicate effectively with APPs, team leaders, patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others.
- Req Ability to process and prioritize information, perform health assessments, treatment, and follow-up. Ability to prepare reports and presentations Ability to use a personal computer and proficiency in using standard business software applications and ability to learn quickly new software programs.
- Req Ability to provide leadership in clinical area of expertise and in meeting organizational goals.

Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing) Valid California Registered Nurse License
- Req Nurse Practitioner Furnisher (CA Board of Registered Nursing) Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally accredited nursing organization (e.g. ANCC, AACN, American Board Of Nursing Specialties or National Academy of Nurse Practitioners)
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) ◦ * In Lieu of RN and NP License: Physician Assistant (PA) License in the State of California and Certification as A Physician Assistant (PA) By the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
The annual base salary range for this position is $174,720.00 - $288,288.00.
