Job Summary

Responsible for administering various standardized pre- and post- tests to PN-5 children on an individual or small group basis. Observes children's behavior during test administration to identify potential areas of concern.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Administers various standardized achievement tests to PN – 5 children on an individual and/or small group basis. Thoroughly learns the administration, scoring methodologies, and philosophies of specified tests.
  • Observes children's behavior during test administration to identify potential areas of concern.
  • Manually scores and records results of tests administered. Provides written evaluations as required.
  • Re-scores and checks test items for accuracy; checks own and other's work.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements listed.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of classroom related experience or testing seasons (or a combination of classroom and testing experience) involving pre-school aged children or lower elementary aged children.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills to communicate effectively with children, parents and teachers.
  • Ability to speak clearly to ensure children understand verbal instructions. Ability to follow strict test protocols to ensure validity of results.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information. Must have sound judgment and be discreet with information about individuals, test information as well as test result information.
  • Ability to build rapport with young children and provide a nurturing testing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Work effectively as a team member.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous elementary or preschool teacher, counselor, testing technician.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
  • Frequently stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequently twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, hop, skip, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.
