We have an immediate opportunity for a Systems and Network Administrator to join our team working on-site in Mt. Laurel, NJ. This is a salaried position, with great benefits, and a fantastic team who support the most popular sports and entertainment league on the planet. This role requires working evenings, overnights and weekends, and must be available to accommodate business needs.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience working in Enterprise Class Data Center. You must be able to work independently and prioritize issues based on their criticality in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000 based on experience
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
Network Management:
- Manage the organization's enterprise networks, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Configure and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and other networking hardware.
- Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- NOC duties including monitoring, incident response/management and triage for circuits, network, server, and data center environments locally and in remote locations.
Systems Administration:
- Administer and maintain enterprise servers, including Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Manage virtualization technologies.
- Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures to protect data integrity.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate applications and systems.
Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
- Continuously monitor systems and networks for performance issues and resolve bottlenecks.
- Optimize system performance through regular maintenance, updates, and patch management.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, system settings, and changes.
- Create and manage operational reports, including system performance, network uptime, and incident response logs.
- Document and update disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Collaboration and Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff, end-users, and other departments.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure alignment of technology with organizational goals.
- Participate in IT audits and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction within the IT environment.
- Lead or participate in IT projects aimed at enhancing system and network performance.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure that all systems and networks comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
- Perform regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network switches, routers, and load balancers.
- Performance optimization and bandwidth monitoring to ensure efficient network operations.
- Troubleshooting of wireless controllers, access points, and end-user Wi-Fi experience
- Technical troubleshooting of network related outages.
- Troubleshooting network connectivity to public cloud services providers like AWS and Azure
- Basic management of product platforms such as Cisco ISE, Palo Alto Panorama, Arista CVP, Meraki Dashboard, and Open Gear Lighthouse.
- Basic management and troubleshooting of broadcast networks and streaming technology - supported networks
- Experience in managing enterprise environments using NMS network monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Datadog, Cisco DNA Center, Logic Monitor, Arista CVP, Meraki Dashboard, etc.
- Responsible for daily IPAM processes (Infoblox, SolarWinds, Bluecat, etc.)
- Implementation, monitoring, and management of backup solutions for critical data and systems.
- Experience monitoring SaaS Solutions such as O365 Applications, Oracle, Rubrik Cloud Backup
- Virtualization and containerization monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and life cycle management (e.g., VMware, VSAN, Docker)
- Server Administration: Windows 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory Administration, Linux
- Regular patch management and software updates to ensure system security and stability. (e.g. WSUS, PDQ Deploy, SCCM)
- Monitoring and management of data center infrastructure and IDFs, including servers, storage, network devices, and power/cooling systems.
- Lifecycle management including racking, cabling, rack elevation diagrams and secure decommissioning.
- Knowledge of DCIM applications for inventory and datacenter management
- Deployment of specialized architectures from runbooks or scripts (e.g. clustered servers, SQL Services)
- Data Retention & Recoverability: Rubrik, Commvault, Zerto
- Cloud Systems Administration: AWS, Microsoft Azure, O365, Rubrik
- Utilization of event correlation platforms and ticketing systems such as Service Now
- Incident management and troubleshooting to address any issues or disruptions promptly, including initiating vendor support escalations.
Other Technical Skillsets:
- A thorough understanding of the OSI model
- Utilization of scripts and code for simple tasks and automation (e.g., shell scripts, terraform, Perl, Ruby, Python).
- PagerDuty a plus
- Security & Antivirus Familiarity (CrowdStrike/Qualys)
- Remediation of security threats and vulnerabilities
- NetApp SAN Monitoring, Storage SAN/NAS, NCDA
- MS SQL 2016, 2019, 2022 and Management Studio Administration
- Redhat/CentOS System Administration
- VMWare, VCP, Microsoft MCSE, MCP Cisco, CCNA a plus
Soft Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Strong documentation skills for maintaining/creating network and system documentation.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Proactively identifying and addressing issues.
