We have immediate opportunities for a Power BI Expert with deep expertise in Power BI, Tabular Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, SQL Reporting Services, and SQL Server to join our team as Customer Engineer (CE).
This is a remote (home based), salaried role with great benefits and a fantastic team. A CE's time is dedicated to working with some of the largest, and most sophisticated companies in the world, usually F1000. You will be responsible for customer satisfaction, deployment, adoption, and support of Power BI initiatives. They work with and assist customers in building, operating, and optimizing complex enterprise environments. You will be a trusted advisor, a specialist the room is looking for guidance, education and adherence for best practices, risk mitigation etc.
CE's are home based and typically deliver services via Microsoft Teams.

Salary Range: $100K - $120K based on experience
Primary work includes:
- Standard Product Work Shops - Training
- In-Depth Product Reviews - White Board (Chalk Talk) Sessions
- Health Checks / Assessments
- Post Operational Review of Product Implementations
- Product Upgrade / Migration Assessments
- Systems Performance Reviews
- Act as the primary technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical support, and problem resolution for corporate customers, including issues raised to the highest levels of management
The experience you'll need to excel in the role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust Power BI solutions, focusing on Power BI Embedded, tabular modeling, report development, and data warehouse integration, as well as advanced analytics and DAX capabilities. SQL Server skills with focus on Performance, High Availability, and Failover Clustering is a plus.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in design, development and optimization of Power BI and SQL Server implementations along with assisting in migration and modernization of solutions to Azure. CE primarily will be driving Power BI engagements with SQL Server as the secondary engagements.
Skills needed:
- Enterprise level support and administration focused specifically on:
- Power BI, Power BI Embedded, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tabular Data Modeling, SQL performance and tuning optimization.
- Work with business stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements.
- Extensive experience with Power BI development including Power BI embedded skills and Tabular Data Modeling.
- Optimize and tune Power BI reports and datasets for performance.
- Implement Power BI Embedded solutions for external-facing applications.
- Proficiency in DAX for developing complex calculations and measures.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and experience with integration of data warehouse
- Assist with the migration of existing reports to Power BI.
- Delivering and/or authoring technical training.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Power BI features and capabilities, implementing best practices for report design and performance optimization.
- Advanced Microsoft certifications preferred.
- Azure data factory, SQL Server/ Azure SQLDB, Azure Synapse knowledge is a plus.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Power BI Solution design and Power BI Embedded development.
- Tabular Data modeling and database design.
- Optimize Tabular Data Models.
- Troubleshoot slow running Power BI and paginated reports.
- DAX, Power Query M Language, development and optimization.
- Paginated Report Development (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop skills.
- Data connectivity best practices to SQL, Analysis Service, Oracle, MySQL, Azure, AWS and other services/ sources.
- Familiar with Power BI REST API to programmatically interact with Power BI Service.
- Power BI Row Level security along with other Security features.
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks.
- Build data pipelines using Power Query to transform data. Additional SQL Server/ SQL Server on Azure IaaS/ Azure SQL DB skills are plus
- Data modeling and database design. o Indexing strategy
- Performance Optimization and Tuning Capabilities, Upgrade process, Backup and recovery, Data integrity
- Partitioning data implementations
- Ensuring High availability and Disaster recovery.
- SQL code reviews with ability to dissect query plan, T-SQL code
- Procedural skills, Data security, Data Encryption, Auditing Replication of data, Storage management techniques.
- Data Engine Capacity planning, General database management, Policy based management.
