Technician III - HVAC 

Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's leading brands and companies, is actively seeking several people as Technician III to join our Electrical team in our Plano, TX office for all shifts.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in HVAC testing!

What are we looking for?

The Technician III - HVAC is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance, or clean-up. This role will support specifically the HVAC department on-site in Plano, TX. 

Schedule

1st shift:    6:00AM to 3:00PM

2nd shift:  2:00 PM to 11:00PM 

3rd shift:   10:00 PM to 7:00AM

What you'll do:

• Set up test apparatus
• Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers throughout the onsite testing
• Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude
• Diligent safety practices, knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management
• Work closely with lead/ crew members and take direction to complete projects within certain policies and procedures
• Daily cleanup and maintenance of projects, work equipment, work site, vehicles and organize all tools and materials
• Perform site survey activities with a team and independently
• Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
• Perform other work as required. 

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience
• Computer skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
• Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools
• Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
• Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management 
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
• Must be customer focused and quality driven
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. 
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, or as business dictates.
• A valid driver's license and reliable driving record
• Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work 

Preferred Requirements

• Trade school certification or Associates degree in technical field
• 7+ years of relatable experience
• OSHA safety certification preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office

The base wage or salary range for this position is $32 to $40 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
