Senior Electrical Inspector - Houston, Texas

(Intertek-PSI) team in Houston, Texas supporting the George Bush Intercontinental Airport Federal Inspection Services Building. What are we looking for?

The Senior Electrical Inspector is responsible for the specific electrical construction needs of Aviation facilities (e.g., Airports) and other related construction projects.

What you'll do:

  • Supervise all Electrical and Special Systems Trade contractors, and vendors involved in the project.
  • Coordinate all Electrical and Special Systems schedules, reports, and documentation from pre-construction through close-out.
  • Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree from accredited Engineering/ABET school in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years' commercial construction experience with large sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems
  • OR 10 years' experience as an electrical engineer in commercial construction in lieu of Bachelor's degree 
  • Valid State Certified Electrician card (Journeyman/Masters)
  • Extensive experience managing the construction of aviation projects and complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure projects
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills, computer skills, willingness to relocate and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience in developing project scopes and schedules, coordinating change orders and RFIs, managing and tracking project budgets, and cost control
  • Strong experience in managing relationships with owner's representatives, architects, engineers and clients on a professional level while supervising trade partners and vendors is a priority
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
