Quality Engineer (Electrical Systems/Energy Storage)  – Remote w/frequent travel

This role focuses on executing QA/QC inspections and audits for battery energy storage systems, analyzing test data, and collaborating with clients and operations teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Execute QA/QC projects for energy storage systems, including Factory Audits (FA), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), In-Process Monitoring (IPM), and Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI).

  • Conduct on-site inspections at manufacturing facilities for battery cells, modules, racks, and containers.

  • Evaluate manufacturing quality processes and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Work closely with Project Operations and Account Management teams to enhance QA checklists, reports, and deliverables.

  • Travel to client sites to perform system audits, inspections, and commissioning support for energy storage systems and related components.

  • Analyze and document test data accurately for client reporting.

  • Ensure adherence to safety practices, PPE use, and inspection standards during field work.

Travel: Up to 80% (domestic and international).

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field required (electrical, mechanical, chemical, industrial, or related).

  • 5+ years of quality assurance or quality control experience in manufacturing, energy storage, electrical systems, or a closely related industry.

  • Proven ability to execute QA/QC activities such as FA, IPM, PSI, and FAT independently.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and QA documentation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer tools for data management and reporting.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis (current or future visa sponsorship not available).

  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces, heights).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct QA/QC experience with lithium-ion battery production or large-scale energy storage systems (strong plus).

  • Hands-on experience with testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, IR cameras, curve tracers, and other inspection instruments.

  • Experience interpreting test data, reports, and inspection images.

  • Familiarity with utility-scale electrical or renewable energy systems (O&M or commissioning experience preferred).

  • Certifications such as NABCEP, OSHA 10/30, arc-flash, fall protection, or lock-out/tag-out training desirable.

  • Comfortable using PPE such as steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
