What are we looking for?
As a Data Architect with Intertek Alchemy, you will define and implement enterprise data strategies, design modern data platforms, and ensure the scalability, security, and accessibility of critical information. You'll partner with engineering, product, and analytics teams to build a robust data ecosystem that supports AI-driven insights, reporting, and customer-facing applications.
What you'll do:
- Architect and maintain enterprise data models, schemas, and integration strategies.
- Design and optimize cloud-based data warehouses, lakes, and pipelines.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to embed data solutions into SaaS applications.
- Define and enforce governance standards around data quality, security, and privacy.
- Support advanced analytics, BI, and machine learning use cases.
- Guide the selection of tools, platforms, and frameworks for scalable data solutions.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and monitor system performance across distributed environments.
- Mentor engineers and analysts on best practices in data architecture.
- Stay current on emerging trends in cloud data platforms, AI/ML integration, and compliance standards.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or related roles.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining data warehouses and/or data lakes.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL and modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques (relational, dimensional, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years in senior-level data architecture or engineering roles.
- Experience with AWS services (Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3) or Azure Synapse.
- Background in SaaS, LMS, training platforms, or EHS/Food Safety tech.
- Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models into data pipelines.
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, HIPAA, GDPR, or other data privacy standards.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and scaled Agile (SAFe).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification.
