Job Title: Senior Engineer, Reliability

 

Your impact 

As Intelsat's Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be recognized as a subject matter expert in Product Reliability.  You will help develop and maintain departmental methodologies, systems and practices which meet organizational and customer requirements. 

You will rely on critical judgment to plan and accomplish goals and provide Reliability Engineering consulting support in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of airborne equipment to ensure that the products and Systems conform to established specifications and consistently meet or exceed the requirements of our customers and the FAA. This role exhibits a wide degree of creativity and latitude in performing difficult tasks.

 

What you will do 

  • Supporting Product Realization efforts
  • Manage, maintain the xFRACAS system including run weekly Failure Review Board meetings with all suppliers.
  • Run internal Pull Review Board meetings with Tech Ops team to determine if product replacements are predicted failures or NFFs.
  • Write SQL queries to transform raw data into reliability time to failure data with suspension and failure times.
  • Work closely with Hardware Engineering and suppliers on failure analysis to understand root cause and recommend design/component decisions.
  • Perform statistical analysis using Weibull ++, Minitab.
  • Create data visualizations in Tableau.
  • Supervise reliability of Line Replaceable Units on all technologies.
  • Conduct reliability analyses, including failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCCA), fault tree analysis (FTA) on new technologies (ESA).
  • Present monthly Reliability metrics, RCCA and improvement plan updates to customers

 

  • Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business. 

 

 Your required experience/skills  

  • BS Degree in electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, or industrial engineering 
  • 3+ years in quality, manufacturing engineering, and/or supplier chain
  • 3+ years' experience working within an ISO 9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Problem-Solving background (i.e. DMAIC, 8D, Six Sigma)
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

It would be nice if you had: 

  • Background in a medium to high volume system level, assembly, and/or SMT manufacturing environment including electrical, mechanical, and/or PCA components.
  • Working knowledge on FAA Regulations including 14 CFR 21 and 14 CFR 145
  • Technical knowledge in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering.
  • PC Skills in database and data analysis systems.
  • Black Belt certification
  • Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering desired
  • ASQ CQE/CRE preferred.
