Position Description: 

Quality Engineering internship position; offering the candidate exposure to aviation/aerospace/telecom data systems, data analysis, reliability statistical methods and hardware.  This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply data science and statistical analysis skills in the context of engineering reliability and system performance. The candidate will collaborate closely with reliability engineers to analyze large datasets, design and maintain databases, and perform statistical analyses to support key decisions related to product reliability, performance, and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating Wiki Pages
    • Learn the structure and purpose of data tables 
    • Develop wiki pages to create a reference for future users
  • Create new methods of data automation and flows
    • Develop procedures and workflows
    • Gain hands-on experience applying data science techniques to real-world reliability challenges in an engineering environment
    • Create automated Reliability monitoring (Python, Tableau, etc)
  • Develop Python Reliability Statistic pages
    • Develop code to create a live Weibull distribution
    • Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Persuing a BS in Data Science preferred

 

12 Week Schedule:

  • Week 1-3: Training and overview of processes and procedures
  • Week 4-6: Guided On the Job Training (OJT)
  • Week 7-10: Working independently to complete assigned tasks
  • Week 10-12: Deployment of processes

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
    • Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university; Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
    • May 2025 graduate 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of SQL, Python, Tableau
  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

 

Summer Intern Program Description:

  • Paid; 12 weeks starting on Monday, May 26, 2025 through August 15, 2025
  • Schedule - 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday, 9 – 5 or regular core hours
  • Hybrid environment (minimum 3 days in office location)
