Hospitalists # Duties include, but are not limited to the following: # Provide medical care and consultation to young adult, middle aged adult, and elderly patients. Establish and maintain procedures for the distribution, acquisition, and management of controlled substances. Ensure that patient rights and confidentiality of patient information is maintained. Participate in identifying, collecting, and reporting relevant statistical data to reflect the activities of the department and staff. Treat young adult, middle-aged adult, and elderly patients; to be knowledgeable about developmental needs over the age span of the population being served; to apply age specific teaching/learning concepts to patients and their families/ significant others.
