Holyoke Medical Center is a 198-bed community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the Pioneer Valley for over 125 years.# We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient centered care.# We are seeking a nocturnist physician to admit and manage patients in our Hospitalist Service. Schedule 7pm - 7 am.# 7 on 7 off schedule with 1 week of PTO.## Nocturnist payrates, including bonus opportunity.## Duties include: To admit patients to the hospitalist service and provide cross cover services as needed.## To provide medical consultation to any service in hospital requesting such service, and to perform consultations in a timely manner. To provide appropriate supervision and review of services rendered by physicians and other non-physicians involved in direct care of patients on service. To utilize effective communications with patients and all members of the hospital team taking care of the patient. To ensure that consultation by sub-specialists to the Hospitalist Service are requested in a timely manner in order to optimize patient care, and ensure that referrals to sub-specialists are consistent with outpatient attending M.D. preference if patient was referred by outpatient attending physician. To comply with coding guidelines established by applicable regulatory agencies. To participate in the hospital quality improvement activities and in the hospital utilization management activities REQUIREMENTS: Medical degree; current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; current license from the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs; current credentials as a member of the Hospital#s medical staff#
