Holyoke Medical Center is a proud 198-bed community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the pioneer valley for over 125 years. Our laboratory team is looking for an ASCP registered, or registry eligible, Histoechnologist who believes in our Lab#s Mission Statement of working collaboratively to ensure quality results for every patient every time. Duties include#embedding, cutting, slide prep and staining, operating stainer and IHC stainer, fresh/frozen section specimen prep,#grossing smaller specimens,#cytology prep, specimen processing and clerical duties.# The schedule is four 8-hour days/week, 7:30a-4p. Days based on needs of the dept. Some flexibility with days and hours. No weekends or holidays. REQUIREMENTS:#Associates Degree or graduate of an accredited program as a Histotechnologist; certification as a Histotechnologist (HT/HTL,#ASCP); one year or more of recent experience as a Histotechnologist preferred, including Immunohistochemistry and frozen section processing. Applicants must have: A passion for caring about a community through quality work in a stand-alone hospital lab. A drive for learning new practices to be able to adapt to our rapidly growing test menu. A willingness to offer new ideas to the team to help with our culture of continuous improvement.
