BARIATRIC SURGEON-BARIATRICS DEPARTMENT-FULL TIME Holyoke Medical Center is a 219-bed community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the Pioneer Valley for over 125 years.# We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient centered care.# Our Weight Management Program has an opportunity for a Bariatric Surgeon to provide the full scope of bariatric services, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care.# Holyoke Medical Center#s Weight Management Program has been accredited as Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSQIP).# Our quality outcomes not just meet but are often better that the MBS standards.# The program is a robust multidisciplinary team that consists of the medical director, two physician assistants, a licensed clinical social worker (LISCW) and a dietician (RD). Under the guidance of our medical director the program strives for continuous improvement, both in operational efficiency and in clinical outcomes.# The medical director possesses a strong interest in research and when possible pursues opportunities to participate in clinical studies and submit academic papers.# This is therefore a unique opportunity to work for a well-funded community hospital and engage is some research efforts if interested. Qualified candidates will possess: Degree of Doctor of Medicine American Board of certification in Bariatric Surgery Excellent written and verbal skills Excellent skills in maintaining highly confidential information Skilled in compiling clinical documentation in a timely manner Experience working with an electronic medical record preferred Strong clinical background and business acumen Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels Successful record of leading quality initiatives in a group practice setting Working knowledge and experience in a population health/medical home environment Dedication to support, grow and develop the Medical Group. Interest in research a plus #
