Hobby Lobby is searching for a talented, innovative, and driven Senior BI Developer with a minimum 5-7 years of experience in leading Business Intelligence design and development projects.
Primary Functions/Job Description
- Lead large-scale business intelligence team projects by providing project oversite and directing project activities of other team members.
- Work directly with business leaders to get beyond the initial “ask” to understand the underlying business needs, critical path, and timeline surrounding key goals.
- Develop business intelligence solutions to satisfy short and long term priorities with solutions ranging from traditional reporting to more modern, interactive reporting solutions.
- Communicate/interact with business partners up to the VP level.
- Initiate and lead enhancements to the Business Intelligence strategy.
- Collaborate with development teams and project managers to determine requirements and develop solutions to meet business goals.
- Development of stored procedures, functions, and other user-defined objects.
- Optimization of SQL queries.
- Development of dimensional data models to support reporting and analytics (SQL Server BI Platform).
- Assist leadership with maturing the BI program using the latest methodologies as well as classic data warehouse and operational data store design patterns.
- Support of production environment including participation in an after hours on call rotation.
- Lead design and code reviews of BI solutions.
Requirements
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
- 5-7 years applicable experience working in an IT environment.
- Expert knowledge of dimensional data modeling techniques.
- Ability to create and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes in SSIS.
- Expert SQL development skills including, but not limited to, table design, queries, table valued functions, window functions, and index optimization.
- Proficient in developing dashboards, reports, and visuals in Power BI.
- Experience developing data integration processes utilizing SSIS.
- Ability to lead Business Intelligence projects from concept to realization.
- Experience designing operational data stores, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Must have experience working directly with senior business leaders to understand objectives and gather requirements.
- Must be a motivated self-starter who can work independently and also seeks out opportunities to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to mentor junior and intermediate business intelligence colleagues.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server data integration and reporting tools including SSIS, SSAS Tabular Models, and SSRS.
- Ability to manage concurrent projects at different stages of completion.
