We have custom applications that support about 1,000 stores nationwide and thousands of employees. Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for building great software. We're looking for a self-motivated and versatile developer with 3+ years of experience to join an energetic and collaborative team in building and maintaining applications to support an ever-growing company.
This is an in-person office position in Oklahoma City, located on a 1,000+ acre campus with an on-site clinic and pharmacy.
Primary Functions/Job Description
- Responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing RPGIV, ILE, Free Form and CL programs on the iSeries, as well as SQL procedures
- Research and document business rules and data integrity embedded in existing RPG and CL programs
- Develop new business applications to meet the needs of various departments
- Create interface applications between Hobby Lobby and outside business partners
- Prepare all appropriate user and technical documentation for assigned development projects
- Work with DBA to develop new database tables and modify existing database tables
- Provide end-user production support for in-house developed and purchased software including afterhours support scheduled on a rotating basis with other developers
- Coordinate project implementations with DBA, system administrator and technical support
- Use various tools to automate and schedule processes on the iSeries
- Maintain and program applications using various IBM and third-party development tools
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Degree in MIS or Computer Science or 7 years applicable experience
- Strong programming skills in CL, RPGIV, ILE, Free Form and SQL
- Understanding of database fundamentals, including triggers, referential integrity and stored procedures
- Ability to research and document process flows in existing systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience and interacting positively with management, business partners and software providers
- Ability to participate in collaborative workflow processes with IT staff and users
- Experience with iSeries Navigator and Rational Developer tools
- Familiarity with Robot and Hawkeye tools
- Programming skills in .NET and C#
