As a Data Visualization Analyst, you will transform complex data into visually compelling and actionable insights.  You will have regular opportunities to craft compelling narratives through visual representations.

 

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design interactive dashboards ensuring they are intuitive, user friendly and aligned with business objectives to contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.

 

The most qualified candidates will have experience creating compelling data graphics.  Experience with public speaking and presentation to a variety of business units in engineering firms is highly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Explore and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns and key insights.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
• Provide input on data structure and organization for optimal visualization outcomes.
• Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards.
• Select appropriate visualization tools and techniques based on data characteristics and audience.
• Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, intuitive and aligned with business objectives.
• Develop compelling narratives through data storytelling.
• Clearly communicate insights and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create visualizations that tell a coherent and impactful data-driven story.
• Continuously seek feedback and make improvements to enhance the effectiveness of visualizations.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Information Design) required. Years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a data visualization role required, with a history of successful project delivery.
• Proven expertise in creating visualizations using Power BI and proficiency with SQL and Power Query required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of data modeling highly preferred.
• Previous experience in the AEC industry preferred.
• Strong design sensibility and an understanding of visual hierarchy and information design principles.
• Experience and proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python or R.
