Job Summary This position is a high-visibility strategic partner that supports leadership with effective decision-making, initiative management, and execution of operations and/or strategic initiatives within the department and in collaboration with other departments. The Sr Manager, Governance and Operations provides the organizational and communication framework to implement the leader's vision and achieve targets/goals.

ORGANIZE – organize ideas, projects, people, time, and resources necessary to keep operations and initiatives moving forward

OPERATIONS – Ensure operations are performed in an appropriate, reliable, and cost-effective way. Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices

COMMUNICATE – communicate the vision, goals, status, and/or the process to the necessary people. This includes creating content, providing context, and helping connect the dots across all organizations to fulfill department mission

DELEGATE – projects and tasks to the appropriate people, support them, and hold them accountable to the results


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Build and lead the operations for an assigned department 
  • Promote team integration as well as cross-functional communication and collaboration 
  • Manage key relationships and build a process to track and nurture key stakeholders, partners, and staff 
  • Track high priority initiatives to identify any/potential obstacles and opportunities 
  • Manage resources and perform HR functions for resources within team 
  • Manage the completion of goals and tasks for resources within the team. 
  • Establish professional relationships with critical technology delivery partners. 
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc. 
  • Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies. 
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of company business. 
  • Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested. 
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management

Required Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Management Information Services, Computer Science or Business Management 
  • 3 - 6 years' experience in technology, technology delivery or support function with 1-3 years of directly managing and/or leading a team with multiple employees 
  • Business acumen, strategic and analytical thinking, root cause analysis, and creative problem-solving ability 
  • Business and financial acumen 
  • Leadership, change management and communications experience 
  • Experience managing multiple, medium-to-large, cross-functional teams or projects 
  • Strategic /analytical thinking and creative ability 
  • Experience utilizing a project methodology and associated deliverables 
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding across all areas and levels of the organization 
  • Negotiation, management, and strategic problem-solving skills 
  • Track record of organizing and directing multiple teams and departments 
  • Highly experienced with spreadsheet for data analysis and reporting 
  • Able to effectively communicate vision, strategy, and complex information concepts to HCSC business and technology leadership teams. 

Preferred Job Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or a similar field 
  • Experience in the healthcare industry 
  • Experience with department financials, including project and budget management 
  • Experience creating and managing a governance framework is a plus.  
  • Ability to produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools; perform research and assist in analyzing data related to the division's strategic initiatives and broader research needs.  
  • Work closely with customers and partners of the department to build relationships; and continuously
