Job Summary This position will focus on exploratory advanced data analysis of medical cost data to assist Senior Leadership in identifying key drivers of costs. Additionally, this role is responsible for constructing forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on advanced data analysis. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. Produces datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools. May perform research and assists in analyzing financial and health data, including medical algorithms to determine health care expenditures, medical and economic outcomes, and cost containment strategies. Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Contributes to the development of functional strategy. Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives. Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree and 7 years experience in health care services, quantitative/statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including 4 years experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy, OR 10 years experience in health care services, quantitative/statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including 4 years experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy.
  • Recognized as an expert with significant data science or advanced analytics experience.
  • Anticipates internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.
  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy.
  • Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.
  • Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, or bachelor's degree with significant data science or advanced analytics experience.
  • Collect, integrate and analyze data from sources related to health status and outcomes for our members, characteristics of health care providers, internal business processes, and other domains.
  • Perform complex statistical analysis on experimental or business data to validate and quantify trends or patterns identified by business analysts.

This position will require 3 days reporting into the office each week, provides flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.
